Why did I decide to join ORMIT?
I was really bothering a lot about making the right choices for my career. After looking around for a while and learning about many trainingships, I found out that what I really needed was to get to know myself better in the working world before I could make a sound decision on my career orientation.

After 9 months, it appears that ORMIT is a perfect match for me. I got a great first assignment as Project Management Officer on several big integration projects. I really loved being in contact with so many different departments and people and the responsibilities were really great for a junior.

Besides my life at the participant (the companies that take ORMITers on projects), I have learned enjoying a second company life here at ORMIT.

Once a month, we go one day on training at ORMIT. I must say they are really useful to acquire an in-depth knowledge of oneself and thanks to a great follow-up done by my coach it is really personalized.

Also we regularly do have an ORMEET where we get to see all the other ORMITers round a beer. It is a great moment to learn about each other, to discuss about respective projects etc.

To sum up, I think this is a great chance to get to know more about yourself, different company styles, functions and great fellow ORMITers, all this in a human-size, friendly atmosphere.

After my studies of commercial engineer and a ManaMa in Transport Sciences, I found it particularly difficult to define what I wanted to do afterwards and which job I wanted to apply for.

I knew that I wanted to learn more, develop myself, keep my scope open and learn which kind of job suits me best, which kind of environment challenges me the most and which career I want. For example my specialization during my studies supply chain management and transport. I really wanted to live the experience of working in a supply chain/Transport environment because this was my specialization during my studies and I like the content a lot but I wanted to compare this with other jobs because maybe I work better and feel myself better in for example a market environment of a SME.

It was a friend who introduced me to the ORMIT concept and it totally matched my expectations of a first job:

• Lots of learning possibilities with trainings once a month and a personal business coach
• A changing and challenging environment in different projects at large companies (like Arcelor Mital Dupont or Aleris but also GSK, BNP Paribas Fortis or Bpost etc.).
• ... and fantastic colleagues.

I applied for the job of Management trainee for a period of 26 months and started in October.
Eight months later now, I have finished my first project at BNP Paribas Fortis as a Network SPOC (Single Point of Contact for the Network) for the deployment of the new (VoIP/Internet) Telephony in the branches.

I was responsible for communication to the network, gathering the necessary information from the network and tracking of all preparation steps.
For me this project was really a great success because:

• Very challenging environment because it was an important project for BNPPF with a lot of impact
• I developed my French a lot because the project was most of the time in French
• I learned to work in a project environment with a diversity of profiles
• I had my own deliverables which I had to plan and organize next to the day-today activities and problems
• I learned to work in a big company and I got acquainted with the culture of a financial services company
• I had great colleagues and we will keep in touch

What really stands out after my first project are two things: First of all the focus of ORMIT on personal development. During the trainings you really get to know your strengths and your pitfalls and how to cope with these pitfalls. The results of the trainings are followed up by your coach during your coaching sessions at a project and your coach also helps you to find solutions for problems in your project. Therefore, I really get the feeling that I develop myself and I grow on professional as well as on personal level.

And, the culture and the atmosphere at ORMIT here is great. You can share a lot with your colleagues here, they have lots of things in common and everybody tries to help each other. The people in your pool are the people you do the trainings with and you really get to know them, the goods and the bads and that creates a band.

As a result, I am very happy with my choice and I am a proud to be an ORMIT'er.
